Here are the best and most beautiful national parks from around the world.

National parks were created to protect and promote the unique beauty and species of certain places from destruction due to human activities. Because these protected areas are properly maintain they became popular tourist attractions.

1.) Northeast Greenland National Park

Northeast Greenland National Park is the world’s largest national park with an area of 972,000 km2 or 375,000 sq mi. This national park is larger than 163 countries in the world. It is located in Greenland, the world’s largest island. This national park is also the world’s most northernmost national park.

2.) Great Smoky Mountains National Park – North America

If Northeast Greenland National Park is the largest national park in the world, Great Smoky Mountains National Park holds the distinction as the most visited national park in the US. This park, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located in the United States. This national park has an area of 2,108 km², making it one of the largest protected areas in the eastern United States.

3.) Torres del Paine National Park – South America

Sliding down south of North America is the Torres del Paine National Park . in Spanish it is called Parque Nacional Torres del Paine. This national park features mountains, a lake, a glacier and river-rich areas. It is situated in southern Chilean Patagonia. The park’s centerpiece is the Cordillera del Paine. Other parks located near Torres del Paine National Park are Bernardo O’Higgins National Park and Los Glaciares National Park.

4.) Grand Canyon National Park – NORTH AMERICA

This park receives more visitors than most national parks around the world. In 2007, it admitted more that 4.4 million visitors. This famous attraction, which is a series of gorges carved by the mighty Colorado River, is located in the US State of Arizona. It is regarded as one of the major natural wonders of the world and covers an area of 4,927 sq km. In 1919, it was declared as a national park and is now declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.

The site is unmatched throughout the word in that it offers one of the deepest canyons in the world. Its overwhelming size and its intricate and colorful landscape is really grandeur for everyone. The park is also home to great wildlife species. The pine and fir forest, painted deserts, plateaus, caves, and sandstone carry and offer a wide range of rare and endangered animals. Aside from the casual sightseeing, it also boosts exceptional activities like river rafting or kayaking, hiking, horseback riding and rock climbing.
